![]() Josh was someone that would stop anything that he was doing to make sue Eden felt safe or made sure she was okay. Although she never told him what was going on, Eden felt safe around Josh. Josh was someone who Eden went to at hard times. She was just too scared to admit it to Josh. He was basically the first boy Eden fell in love with. Josh was the first boy Eden WANTED to have sex with. Josh was a senior when he and Eden had officially met. Josh is another important main character in this novel. If she knew her mother wouldn’t listen to her, then nobody would. She felt like nobody was there for her, or nobody would listen to her. She didn’t allow anyone to see that she was hurting and need someone by her side. She put up this wall that wouldn’t allow people come in. ![]() From the day Eden was raped, to senior year, Eden changed. Starting with Eden, Eden is a fourteen year old who was raped by a family friend. ![]() In The Way I Used to Be, there are three main characters, two important minor characters and three other minor characters. ![]() Like every teenage goes to school, home, or out with their friends. The setting in the books seemed to be so real. As I was reading The Way I Used to Be, I was able to picture everything that was happening. When they talk about going to different place, everything seems to be walking distance, or no longer than a ten minute drive. Although Amber Smith didn’t mention where Eden lived in this novel, it seems like the book takes place in a small town like mesquite. ![]()
